As a result of this, Manchester United are hellbent on improving their current squad and have been linked with a move for experienced Napoli central defender Kim Min-Jae.
The 26-year-old South Korea International, who signed up for Napoli after departing Fenerbahce back in 2022 has proven to be an important member of the first-team squad.
The experienced centre-back was hugely influential for Napoli during the just concluded season where he scored two goals and provided two assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
His excellent performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Manchester United, but according to latest reports from The Sun, Premier League side Newcastle United have now joined the race.
The reports further claimed that Newcastle United are willing to battle Manchester United in the race to sign Kim Min-Jae and have now scheduled talks with the experienced defender.
It is believed that Kim Min-Jae is worth up to £42million and both Manchester United and Newcastle United football clubs are now vying to bring the centre-back to England.
But then, it remains to be seen where the experienced defender will choose to continue his football career if he eventually gets to leave Napoli when the transfer window opens.
