The Premier League giants saw off competition from Liverpool football club during the 2021/2022 season as they eventually won the Premier League title under manager Pep Guardiola.
But then, Manchester City football club are not contented and are willing to further improve their defensive options as they aim to challenge for trophies in the forthcoming season.
That said, Manchester City football club have been linked with a transfer move for highly-rated young Sevilla central defender Jules Kounde before the transfer window closes.
The 23-year-old France International, who has been with Sevilla since 2019 has proven to be an important member of the first-team squad since he made the move from Bordeaux.
The young centre-back was a mainstay in Sevilla defence during the just concluded 2021/2022 season where he made 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and creating one assist in total.
His excellent performances in defence is said to have impressed the Manchester City board and according to reports from Daily Mail, the Premier League side are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Manchester City football club are really interested in Jules Kounde and are currently monitoring the young defender ahead of a move this summer.
It is believed that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to bolster his defensive options for the new season and he has identified Jules Kounde as a needed addition to his squad.
But then, it remains to be seen if Manchester City will be able to reach an agreement with Sevilla football club and secure the transfer of Jules Kounde before the window closes.
