At the end of his brief tenure with Brentford, Eriksen was allegedly courted by Thomas Frank’s team to re-sign on an extended contract.
Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have indicated interest in signing the Danish player.
In Erik ten Hag’s first games as manager since joining United in July, Eriksen has made an impression as a sophisticated midfielder.
Football Insider claims that United made considerable attempts to acquire the sought midfielder.
In addition to his weekly salary of £200,000, Eriksen received a signing bonus of roughly £12 million, per their claim (including bonuses).
This salary on a three-year deal was provided by United in order to compete with other London clubs.
Eriksen naturally agreed, raising his total reward—if his contract goes through—to £43 million.
