Wwell-known and well-respected journalist Delaney has reported that Liverpool midfielder Thiago is hopeful of being available for the Reds against Madrid on Saturday.

Liverpool coaching staff are even more optimistic about the chances of defensive midfielder Fabinho turning out against Madrid, according to the newsletter.

Spain international midfielder Thiago picked up a calf injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Liverpool’s final Premier League game of the season.

Delaney wrote in Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent: “The big decision going into the Champions League final is on the fitness of Thiago Alcantara.

“At the time of writing, the midfielder is hopeful of being available. So are the staff at Kirby, and they are even more optimistic on Fabinho.”

Boost

In our opinion, if Fabinho and Thiago are passed fit to play against Real Madrid, then it will be a huge boost to Liverpool’s chances of winning the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.

Now, of course, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may not include the duo in the starting lineup, but even having these two world-class midfielders on the bench would enhance the Reds’ chances of beating Los Blancos.
