Traore is heading back to Molineux after a loan spell at Barcelona. Unfortunately for the winger, his return to Catalonia did not exactly go to plan.
He is still expected to leave Bruno Lage’s men in this window. Reports have previously claimed that both Leeds and Tottenham want the 26-year-old.
And TEAMtalk has now suggested that the Whites are looking at Traore as one of the players who could help replace Raphinha. The Brazilian is expected to leave Elland Road.
And he may be available for a decent fee. TEAMtalk suggests Wolves would like £20 million for the wide-man. But they could accept even less.
Leeds view Traore as potential Raphinha replacement
It will not sit well with Leeds fans if Victor Orta wants Traore as a possible Raphinha replacement. Raphinha is the most dangerous player in the Whites’ squad. And he backs it up with goals.
Traore however, is known for struggling with his end product. He has 11 goals in 154 games for Wolves. Raphinha meanwhile, has 17 in 67 for Leeds.
Clearly however, there is a special talent in there somewhere. He has been described as an ‘incredible‘ player. And he would eat up a fraction of the £56 million Leeds hope to make should they sell Raphinha.
Tottenham may be content to push Traore towards Leeds. Reports this week noted that Antonio Conte wants to sign Raphinha. So they may welcome Leeds finding a replacement.
For a club with a much bigger budget, there is surely no contest deciding between the two.
Traore has the potential to be an outstanding player. But there is no question that whichever side has Raphinha in their ranks at the end of the summer will be the much happier.
