United are rumored to be interested in the Uruguayan, but new rumors claim that he has turned down the opportunity to join United because of their lack of Champions League action.
According to RMC, United and Newcastle are both interested, but the forward has refused both teams because he prefers to play in Europe’s most prestigious competition.
Manchester United’s poor Premier League season was always going to bite them in the transfer market, and Nunez, as well as potential target Frenkie de Jong, are believed to consider other options.
United had previously failed to qualify for the Champions League, and aside from the summer of 2014, when they were without Champions League football for the first time in the Premier League’s history, they have struggled to attract the best players.
