The executive governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr Sanwo Olu has organised a healing program tagged Walk Of Peace to deliberate on recent happenings in the state which affected the people physically, emotionally and psychologically. As a tradition, invitations were extended to prominent personalities and celebrities across the state but unfortunately, the popular comedian Known as Debo Macaroni and superstar musician Falz have outrightly rejected the invitation by the state government. The Walk Of Peace program is not a political procession or campaign for any political candidate. It is an opportunity for people to come together and show solidarity to one another in regards to the series of calamities that befall in Lagos state. The state experience the End SARS incident, multiple collapses of buildings, violent agitations etc. The refusal of the celebrities to honour this invitation may affect their reputation in the state. The procession has nothing to do with politics. It will be best if they ignore their political differences and affiliations for the progress of the state.
To rebuild Lagos state, there is a need for total public support and collaboration. Many influential personalities including political leaders, traditional rulers and business tycoons are expected to grace the occasion. This is for the promotion of unity, stability and restoration of normalcy in the state. The executive governor of Lagos may not appreciate the decision of Macaroni and Falz to snub his invitation.
Lagos state is one the major cities in the country that contribute immensely to the economic growth and development of the country. The revenue generated from manufacturing industries, real estate etc is used to finance capital projects in the state. This is why the restoration of stability and normalcy in the state matters a lot.
