Why Do Some People Eat Whatever They Want but Stay Skinny?

It’s easy to jump to conclusions and criticize others for their weight, but science has come to make us understand, there’s not a lot of control you have over your body type like you would wish.

In other words, skinny people tend to have fewer genetic variants that increase the chances of developing obesity. Now, ruling out lifestyle factors, why do most people remain thin, no matter what they eat?

1. Genetics:

It’s not about how much activity goes on in their gut, most people have been blessed with genetic makeups that guarantee they stay the same weight forever. However, the rest of us might need a little more help.

2. Fast metabolism:

You’ve probably heard of this. but you might be unfamiliar with the term Basal metabolic rate (BMR)

This is how fast your body burns or demands calories to function through everyday activities. Most people who eat a lot but not gain weight may have a high BMR as they tend to burn more calories than the average person.

3. Malabsorption:

This is a condition in which the body is unable to absorb or digest calories after leading to bits or chunks of food particles in your stool. If you notice the above symptoms or oily substances after passing a stool, be sure to talk with your doctor to know whether this is to blame.

4. Food choices:

It may seem like just eating a lot is all you need to pack some pounds, but the choices of food matter just as much as how much you choose to consume. Gaining weight always burns down to calories. If you eat a full plate of salad or grilled vegetables, you end up eating less calories than the person who’s loaded on a greasy sandwich and fries.
