According to reports, the Spanish side boasts one of the biggest sponsorship deals in the world. However, Liverpool are set to break the record with the Premier League side set to sign the most expensive sponsorship deal in football history.

Standard Chartered have been Liverpool’s official sponsor for the last decade, and the deal between the two sides is set to come to an end next summer, after both parties agreed to a deal in May 2018, which saw Liverpool earn 46 million euros annually through the sponsorship.

According to reports, however, Liverpool are now looking to secure a shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered worth around 94m euros per year, which would be the most expensive deal of its type in the history of football. Fans have taken to social media to show their excitement about the prospect of Liverpool signing such a lucrative deal.

Liverpool’s new sponsorship deal could see them surpass Real Madrid’s agreement with Emirates, through which Los Blancos earn over 70m euros annually.

According to reports, negotiations are already ongoing as the Reds look to have their deal with Standard Chartered extended, However, they are also open to agreeing to a deal with a new sponsor.

According to reports by media outlet The Athletic, Liverpool could become the first club in the English Premier League club to have a cryptocurrency firm as their main shirt sponsor.

According to the same reports, The Reds have so far received offers from a ‘blockchain’ platform and a cryptocurrency exchange, although any agreement will have to be approved by the fans. Reports also suggest that Liverpool launched several NFTs in April, which angered the fans.
