In the first half Boulaye Dia opened the scoring in the game for Senegal with a goal from close range, before Famara Diedhiou doubled their lead in the 48th minute but it was Edouard Mendy’s reaction to Qatar’s goal that got some fans upset as they believe the 30 year-old should have made an effort to stop the header from Mohammed Muntari.
Well, the match eventually ended 3-1 at full-time after A. Bamba Dieng got on the scoresheet to seal all three points for Senegal. It’s fair to say Edouard Mendy was Senegal’s best player in the game this afternoon as he did well to prevent Qatar from scoring more than a goal.
