In a New Year’s message to the nation, the president expressed his confidence in the security situation despite the recent setbacks.

“I can assure you that we will continue to work hard to deliver on our promises to improve the lives of Nigerians,” he said.

He said his government would change its stance by finding alternatives to mediation and reconciliation to end the war, such as the scourge of poaching and Boko Haram in the north, in addition to the group’s crisis IPOB in the south-east of the country.

On the economic front, the Nigerian president’s speech touched on what he called, “the resilience of our economy despite the recession that has plagued all international efforts to rebuild our country.”

He said the Nigerian economy had grown by 5 percent compared to 2020 which he said was higher than all sub-Saharan African countries, and higher than in recent years especially since 2014.

He also touched on the signing of the Petroleum Industry Act, which seeks to regulate the extraction and processing of oil in the country, thanking the National Assembly for its co-operation in passing the law. almost twenty years of trying to produce it.
