What Are These Medications?
1. Pain relief drugs like ibuprofen should be avoided during pregnancy. This is because taking it in high dosage can cause many serious issues including, miscarriage, delayed onset of labour, jaundice in some pregnant women and many other complications that may hurt the woman and the unborn baby.
2. Warfarin; this is a blood thinning medication that should also be avoided during pregnancy. It is often taken to aid blood clots but it should be avoided during pregnancy unless the bleeding is more serious than risking whatever harm it may cause the unborn baby.
3. Lorazepam; this is a very common medication that is often used for anxiety and other mental disorders. But during pregnancy, it should be avoided also because it has the capability of causing birth defects and life-threatening withdrawal symptoms in a baby after it’s born.
4. Ciprofloxacin otherwise referred to as Cipro is another medication that should be avoided during pregnancy. Reason being that they can cause problems with tbe baby’s muscles and skeletal growth as well as joint pain and potential nerve damage in the mother.
So you have everything to lose if you take this medication, even if you have a problem that requires the kind of medication, ensure you consult a doctor or medical expert to know which choice to take. Never do self prescription of drugs during pregnancy to avoid using your hand to destroy yourself or your unborn baby.
