The incident took place at around 9 p.m. on Sunday in the Ikponwosa/Egban community located within the Egor Local Government Area of Edo, according to Punch.
Members of the Edo State Police Anti-Kidnapping Squad and Control Intelligence Rapid Response Squad had initiated an operation to capture some suspected cultists who have been terrorizing the Ikponwosa/Egban community lately.
During this operation, Sergeant Abosele Akhere apprehended a notorious cultist and primary suspect in cult-related activities known as ‘Raggae’.
A reliable source said, “All of a sudden, Inspector Jonathan Okouromi just lifted his gun, pulled the trigger, and shot Akhere from the back.
Nobody knew what happened or why he did that. He just fired him from behind. The man fell immediately and started bleeding,”
As per an anonymous source, the officer who was shot was expeditiously transported to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician…CONTINUE READING>>
