According to the saps news report, earlier this morning 14 December 2021 police who were on patrol spotted two suspicious men at a ATM, the suspicious men saw police approaching them and ran away, police chased after the two suspects until they caught them, after the suspects were caught a bag they were holding was searched and explosives were found inside.

Police went back to the ATMs where they spotted the two men and they found more explosives connected to two ATMs, police disconnected the explosives and the two suspects aged 35 and 37 were arrested and charged for attempted ATM bombing and possession of explosives, they are expected to make an appearance at the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court tomorrow 15 December 2021 to face the charges.
