The opposition PDP ruled the State between 1999 and 2015, but lost the control of the State to the APC in 2015. However, 2023 General Elections is another opportunity for the PDP to return to power. The Party has a bright chance of winning the 2023 Governorship Election if it takes the following steps.
1. Zone its Governorship Ticket to Plateau Central Senatorial District
One of the major Reasons why PDP lost the 2015 Governorship Election was because the party ignored Zoning Arrangement which has been a trandition in Plateau State Politics since 1999.

The party picked its Candidate from the Plateau North Senatorial District instead of the Southern Senatorial District. The All Progressives Congress (APC) took advantage of that and picked the Incumbent Governor Simon Lalong who hails from Plateau South as its Candidate.
2. The PDP should avoid Imposition, Present a Sellable Candidate
In build-up to the 2015 Governorship Election in Plateau State, the then Governor Jonah Jang imposed Senator Gyang Pwajok (Late) on party Leaders, a Development that led to Mass Defection of PDP Members to the APC. The party should present a Credible Candidate in the forthcoming 2023 Election and avoid Imposition.
