His former Boss had been pushing for his signature for weeks before the Gabon international was persuaded to leave Spanish outfit, Barcelona for a return to the English top flight.

Prior to the Ex-PSG tactician being fired last week after losing to Dinamo Zagreb, Aubameyang had only participated in two training sessions and 59 minutes of live action under the 49-year-old.

The 33-year-old disclosed his plans to contact the German Boss after his home debut yesterday against RB Salzburg.

“I haven’t spoken to him (Tuchel) yet. I believe he was a little sad and frustrated, but I’ll attempt to speak to him soon. We’ve all had some crazy weeks, I think.

“That is part of life, we’ve to adapt, Everyone is aware of my relationship with Thomas. When someone quits the club, it is always sad. I just had a brief encounter with him, but this is football.

“When you play football, you occasionally have to adjust to situations like these that might occur in a season.”

Potter’s first game as Blues boss was Wednesday’s draw. It was a disappointing debut for Potter, who saw his new side open the scoring through Raheem Sterling before a lack of concentration in defence allowed Noah Okafor equalise in the 75th minute.

Aubameyang feels the performance good and he doesn’t think it will take long for the West Londoners to implement the Ex-Brighton manager’s coaching strategies.

He said, “I believe he is a person who is incredibly good and has a terrific character. “We’ll try to learn with him. As soon as possible, we want to triumph. No, [the adaptation process won’t take long]. It’s going to be easy because, in my opinion, his idea is quite evident.

“I’m a little disappointed with the outcome. Unfortunately, despite our performance, we still needed to win by a few goals.

“I need more time to heal from my injuries. I’m not perfect. Playing while wearing a mask and injured is difficult, but I hope to return to 100% as soon as possible.
