Real Madrid had a tough run in the competition defeating Inter Milan, Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester City on the road to lifting the title.

A lot of players had a good tournament, but eleven players stood out amongst the others.

1. Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid)

The Belgian goalkeeper had one of his best tournaments as a Real Madrid player this season and showed why he is the best goalkeeper in the world with a match-winning performance in the final against Liverpool.

2. Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)

The Spanish defender rolled back the years as he was solid for Real Madrid in the competition, especially in the knockout stages where he was needed the most. He faced the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Phil Foden, and Luis Diaz but came out top on all occasions.

3. Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

The Portuguese international had a great tournament and was unlucky not to be in the finals. He scored important goals and assisted some too.

4. Ibrahim Konate (Liverpool)

The French defender was tasked with debuting for the Merseyside Reds ahead of Joel Matip, and he didn’t disappoint on all occasions.

5. Eder Militao (Real Madrid)

One of the reasons Real Madrid are champions of Europe yet again is because of their defenders, and Militao produced a top-notch performance.

6. Dani Parejo (Villarreal)

The Villarreal midfielder was at the centre of his team’s brilliant run in the competition. The Yellow Submarines made it to the semi-finals, and the Spanish midfielder was superb all through.

7. Fede Valverde (Real Madrid)

The Uruguayan midfielder’s performance in the competition gave Ancelotti a rethink in his lineup, and he didn’t disappoint anytime he was on the pitch.

8. Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

The Croatian midfield magician is still controlling things even at the age of 36. He was one of Real Madrid’s best players in the competition.

9. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Arguably the best player in the competition, the Frenchman scored 15 goals to claim the golden boot. The Real Madrid striker’s run of form in the knockout stages helped Los Blancos clinch the trophy.

10. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

The Egyptian forward was unlucky not to win the trophy this season after having a good run in the competition. He was arguably Liverpool’s best player all through the competition and could have won the title for them if not for Courtois.

11. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)

Brazil forward was the star man for Real Madrid alongside Benzema for the most part of the season. He scored the only goal in the final that won Real Madrid the title.
