Following Marc Cucurella’s impressive debut for Chelsea against Everton and high performance against Tottenham, they have been serious debate on who should be Thomas Tuchel’s first choice in the left wing-back position.
In as much as many people would want to see Marc Cucurella as Tuchel’s first wing-back choice, here are a few reasons why Ben Chilwell should be the preferred left-wing-back option.
Defensive Abilities;
Thomas Tuchel’s tactic is all about defending, hence, Ben Chilwell who is more defensive-minded than Marc Cucurella will thrive better.
Premier League Experience;
Ben Chilwell has played for some time in the Premier League, hence he has a better understanding of the league compared to Marc Cucurella who has only played a year in England.
Marc Cucurella may have started the season very well, however, Ben Chilwell remains an important player to Chelsea and many fans would want to see him retaining his position in the team soon.
