The mother of the small child revealed that, Mrs Ogbó who happens to be the owner of the school where Obinna attends and her son flogged the innocent child 31 strokes of cane on no tangible offence.
The horrible incident was reported by Ebenezer Omejalile, Chief Operating Officer of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable People’s Network, a human rights group.
The parent of the child as well as the neighbours and all the concern citizen in the area have took it upon themselves to see justice prevailing over this matter.
This act by the school owner-Mrs Obinna and her Son is what some of the people interviewed on the matter considered to be heinous, devilish, and inhumane. Many believed that, there is more to this and that proper investigation needs to be conducted.
Similarly, one of the respondent whose name is better not mention choose to look at the matter from the angle of spirituality, She said that no man or woman in his or her right senses will beat a child of two-year not to talk of one-year thirty-one strokes of cane.
The respondent pleaded on behalf of the accused that government and the enforcement agent to be lenient with the woman and her son.
Currently, the matter is now aired to the police in the area, the police as arrested the woman and her Son, promising the general public that proper investigation will be done and that justice will prevail.
Before the child died and was unconsciously rushed to hospital, Mrs Ogbó and her son were first released from police custody, immediately the news broke out that the innocent child is dead, police re-arreseted the mother and her Son.
Mrs Ogbo and her son are now in police detention until the police investigations is over and the court preside over the matter.
