The 33 year old football maestro was handed his first start in the squad since his summer arrival at the club from Turkish Super Lig Champion Trabzonspor on a free agent and he was able to get on track as he opened his goal account for his new team, which was a replication of his last season’s impressive form where he became the first Nigerian to record a double digits of goals and assists.
Anthony Nwakaeme scored a late minute equalizer for his team away from home which was enough to rescue a vital away point that keeps them going in the competition.
The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides as there was nothing separating them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw.
The host in the 65th minute of the second half got the deadlock broken with a goal from Saleh Al Jamaan to make it one nil before the visitor got levelled with an equalizer from Anthony Nwakaeme in the 87th minute, which ended the game one all draw at full time thereby making it no victor no vanquished.
Anthony Nwakaeme with his impactful minutes spent on the pitch of play on his full debut for club will be hoping to keep the tempo and momentum going in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
