In a contentious interview given to Italian media in December, Lukaku, who was in and out of the team under Thomas Tuchel, voiced his wish to one day rejoin Inter, saying he had a “dream in the depths of my heart to return.”
The Italian Giants are reported to be paying a loan fee of around £7 million.
Lukaku said he was “back, baby” in a video club president Steven Zhang recorded from atop Inter Headquarters on Wednesday night as Inter made the announcement of the acquisition.
