According to reports on DAILY POST, Kalu emphasized that resorting to sit-at-home protests would not lead to Kanu’s release, urging strategic thinking and dialogue instead of confrontational methods.

During an interactive session with newsmen in his Bende country home, Kalu expressed concern over the Southeast’s approach, stating that threatening to burn down the region if the Federal Government did not release Kanu was counterproductive.

He pointed out that some efforts made by the leadership of the Southeast amounted to mere theatrics, emphasizing the need for a more thoughtful strategy.

“To get Kanu released is not about how much you talk about it in the pages of newspapers or television; it needs strategic thinking and strategic steps to get it done,” Kalu explained.

He dismissed the notion that arm-twisting the Federal Government through sit-at-home protests and violence would yield the desired results.
