Afegbua, while speaking to a group of people in Agenebode, emphasised his unflinching determination to see through his ambition to become the flag bearer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the approaching election for governor of Edo State.
Among the most important aspects that Afegbua brought to light was his self-assurance about the widespread popularity of his name throughout Nigeria.
In his assertion, he stated that he is in a unique position in terms of name recognition among all of the candidates that are running for the APC ticket in Edo State.

“There are a few people who thought that my coming out to contest is just to fill in the gap but now that they’ve seen I have launched out, the kind of calls I am getting now is quite disturbing. Well, let me tell you that I will pursue this aspiration to a logical conclusion.
Nobody can intimidate me out of this race and nobody will tell me that he has a better name recognition in the state than myself. When you call Kassim Afegbua in Nigeria today, people will point at me and that is a political capital I didn’t buy today.
