Kaka was once regarded as one of the world’s top players for Milan. Because of this, Real Madrid signed him. Kaka was close to joining Barcelona in a player deal that would have sent Ronaldinho to Milan.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Sir Alex Ferguson tried to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting before any other major club, but few know he wanted to sell him to Barcelona rather than Madrid.

Florentino Perez said in 2014 that Manchester United preferred to transfer Ronaldo to Barcelona, who were willing to pay a significant fee to pair him with Lionel Messi. The player himself believed a move to Madrid was preferable.
