The club and player have been discussing a renewal for sometime now and it looks like they have reached an agreement, Ngolo Kante is back from injury and extending his contract for another three years plus an option for a further one year could be what the club needs at the moment.
The midfielder have been missed in this Chelsea team but could be back to action in the month of March.
Meanwhile midfielder Mateo Kovacic have been linked with a move to Chelsea rivals Manchester city, the rumor added that Manchester city manager Pep Guardiola is a big admirer and could look to make a move for him in the summer.
