In the 17th minute of the match, Miguel Almiron scored the opening goal for Newcastle United. His strike came as a follow-up after goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma parried away Alexander Isak’s initial effort.

The goal put Newcastle in a strong position, and they looked to build on their early advantage and in the 39th minutes, Dan Burn added the second goal.
