Well, Erik Ten Hag gave Cristiano Ronaldo the opportunity to play in today’s match when Manchester United faced Real Sociedad. The Portuguese International who made his first appearance in the UEFA Europa League had an unconvincing performance in the match as he was very dull offensively for the Red Devils.
The 37-year-old was guilty of missing an important opportunity for Manchester United in the match as he made no vital contributions to the team’s performance against Real Sociedad.
I believe his performance in today’s match shows he is better off being a bench warmer at Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo who has struggled to start some games for Manchester United this season squandered a great opportunity to prove his worth to the Manager against the Spanish Underdogs.
His performance shows he has really declined in form and can longer offer Manchester United much in the latter stages of his career. The Portuguese International needs to remain on the bench for Manchester United and let other vibrant young players get more playing time to build their careers at the club.
