The businessman, identified as Wachira Wamagachi, had gone missing and his family had launched a search for him. A search for Wamagachi had not yielded any fruit until Thursday when it was found dumped in the dam.
Locals in Mathira spotted a body floating in the dam and quickly alerted the police, who supervised the recovery of the body from the water.
Mathira West Police Commander Picley Musyoki confirmed the incident and said the deceased’s body had visible injuries an indication that he was killed elsewhere and his body dumped into the dam.
Musyoki stated that no arrests have been made so far but investigations have been launched to find out the motive and the perpetrators being the heinous act.
