If the itching does not go away, there is need to visit the Doctor for diagnosis and treatment of the underlying cause. This might involve carrying out some test, etc.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT MAY CAUSE THE PALM TO ITCH
The following are medical conditions that may cause the palm to itch;
– Dry skin
– Damage skin
– Allergic reactions
– Psoriasis
– Atopic Dermatitis ( Eczema that occurs on the palm)
– Diabetes
If the itching is associated with the following conditions, it is advisable to see the Doctor;
– Red and inflamed skin with thick dry scales
– Silverish-white scales
– Bleeding or cracking on the affected part
– Small blisters
– Rashes
– Hives
– Burning or stinging skin
TREATMENT
The itching on the palm most times goes away on it’s own but if it persists, the following treatment will help to give remedy;
– Use of moisturizing cream or lotion
– Treatment of allergic conditions with antihistamine medications that will be prescribed by a medical Doctor
– Use of over the counter steroids, etc.
Itching in the palm does not call for concern, though it can be an indication of health issues. It affects people of all races including men and women. One should be sensitive to know the events that preceded the itching so as to take precaution.
It is also good to stay hydrated by taking in plenty of water. Protecting the hands and skin from dangerous chemical substances will help to avoid irritation in the palm.
Eating healthy diet and maintaining good and proper hygiene will control the level of itching in the hands or other parts of the body.
