Barcelona haven’t submitted any official bid to Chelsea for the veteran defender despite agreeing personal terms.

However, Thomas Tuchel has spoken about the future of Cesar Azpilicueta during his recent interview. In a statement issued by the Chelsea manager, he clearly noted that he isn’t pleased with the way Barcelona are handling Azpilicueta’s deal.

According to him, the Spanish giants are consistently in contact with Azpilicueta, making it difficult for Chelsea to convince him to stay.

Tuchel stated, “Maybe I’m a little bit annoyed with Barça. But I do my best for Chelsea. I said that to Azpilicueta, he doesn’t like it – but he understands. It is tough for him because the other club [Barça] is permanently on him”.

Tuchel’s reaction is quite understandable especially after Barcelona hijacked Raphinha’s deal a couple of weeks ago.

Tuchel is a great admirer of the Brazilian forward, and he wouldn’t feel good that Barcelona managed to convince him to make a move to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona are still pretty much interested in doing business with Chelsea despite hijacking Raphinha’s deal.
