However, as Juventus prepares for a potential bidding war, Bayern Munich is eager to obstruct any acquisition of the 22-year-old Dutch center-back, De Ligt.

The Italian powerhouses have changed their stance on waiting for a team to exercise the Dutchman’s £105 million release clause.

At this point, it’s thought that £75 million would be sufficient, and Bayern is wary that its Premier League rivals may have more money.

Instead, they are attempting to convince De Ligt that playing for the German champions would be better for his career and would increase his chances of winning titles.

De Ligt chose Juventus over Bayern Munich when he moved from Ajax for £67.8 million in 2019. The fact that Man City apparently want to recoup the £41 million they spent on Bournemouth for Ake, 27, two years ago, makes dealing with him easier.
