Akintomowo allegedly died after having sexual relations with a woman believed to be his girlfriend, at a hotel in Akinjagunla community on Sunday.
The police did not provide the names of the two people in custody and said they were continuing to investigate the incident.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said that one of the suspects was the girlfriend of the deceased and the other was the owner of the hotel where the incident occurred.
She said that the deceased had not been feeling well after his encounter with the woman at the hotel, and he later died in the hospital. Both suspects remain in police custody pending further investigation.
