The France international’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months. Mbappe’s contract with the Ligue 1 champions is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning he can negotiate a pre-contract agreement for a free transfer to clubs outside France.
Real Madrid and Liverpool are the two clubs who have been deemed the most likely to potentially get a deal done. Recent reports have suggested that Madrid is increasingly likely to be Mbappe’s destination this summer.
According to Le10 Sport in France, United sent an offer to Mbappe in an attempt to convince the player to move to Old Trafford this summer. However, it has been claimed that the chances of Mbappe signing for United are “slim” due to the increased likelihood of the forward joining Real Madrid.
The report adds that both United and Liverpool have fallen behind Real Madrid in the race to sign Mbappe. It has also been stated that particular stance is unlikely to change in the weeks and months to come.
Elsewhere, United are also reportedly expressing an interest in signing Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel.
According to Sport Bild, United have made contact over a potential move for Tel over the possibility of exploring a potential transfer.
It has been claimed that United are not the only Premier League club to express an interest in signing Tel, with Arsenal also reportedly in the running.
The report states that Tel has “blocked” attempts from other clubs to try and sign him from Bayern Munich. Tel’s agent Gadiri Camara has spoken about the striker’s future at the Bundesliga giants.
