The two teams are currently in excellent form, with Manchester United winning nine straight games in all competitions and Arsenal winning eight of their previous ten games overall. The weekend game will be crucial for both sides, but Manchester United will prevail on Sunday for the reasons listed below;
1. Team’s excellent Form
Since the Red Devils’ November loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park, they haven’t suffered a competitive defeat in any tournament. This is a positive development that the team has seen since the premier league resumed following the FIFA world cup. with the most recent victory was against Manchester City, a local rival.
The club’s excellent form doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon, and Erik Ten Hag’s team might perform similarly to what they did in the encounter against Guardiola’s squad when they face Arsenal in the premier league.
2. Squad depth
After leaving the squad earlier this month to join Al Nasr, Christiano Ronaldo left a void in the attacking position that needs to be filled.
However, with the addition of Dutch striker Wout Weghorst on a loan deal from Burnley and Jadon Sancho’s recovery from injury, the team can now boast of a respectable level of squad depth going into the game against Arsenal.
3. Individual Performances
Erik Ten Hag can take pride in having young players that are now excelling. The most notable of these is the in-form English talisman, Marcus Rashford, who had scored in seven straight contests and nine straight at home.
Alejandro Garnacho is another young star who is currently posing a threat to rivals; the latter helped the former score the winning goal in the 2-1 comeback victory over Manchester City last weekend.
Given the aforementioned factors, Manchester United will undoubtedly feel more prepared than Arsenal to defeat them this coming Saturday.
