A striker and a midfielder remain two priorities this summer but if De Gea is to leave then a shot stopper becomes a top priority. A new report states that United are preparing to launch a bid to sign Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central; “Man Utd have ‘presented’ a €80m (£69m) offer to Real Madrid for Belgium goalkeeper Courtois. Man United are prepared to ‘throw the house out the window’ for Courtois and have ‘proposed a contract that would pay him £17m per year’.”

The report goes on to say; “The 31-year-old ‘is too important’ for Real Madrid to lose and ‘not even with the monumental offer’ from Man Utd ‘does he seem close to leaving’.”

United have also looked at Porto’s Diogo Costa, Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer.
