Manchester United are hoping to sign Christian Eriksen this week and have him out in Thailand and Australia for their pre-season tour, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

The £18m-rated midfielder made a verbal agreement to join the Old Trafford outfit earlier this month and Crook reckons Erik ten Hag is close to making his second addition as Red Devils boss.

What’s the latest news involving Eriksen?

Following months of speculation about where the 30-year-old will be playing his football next season, The Athletic revealed on 4 July that Eriksen, who was described as ‘world-class‘ by Thomas Frank, had ‘verbally agreed’ to sign for United.

Tottenham were initially in the running, although it quickly turned into a straight shootout between Brentford and United, with Ten Hag’s side eventually winning the race to land the 110-goal star.

How much did Man Utd pay to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo?

Despite Eriksen’s agreement coming just less than two weeks ago, Crook is confident the Denmark international is not far away from being confirmed as Ten Hag’s next signing.

What did Crook say about Eriksen?

Asked when his arrival could become official, he told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Eriksen will [get done this week]. Obviously he’s got to undergo a more rigorous medical than your average signing, so that’s why it’s taking a little more time, but they’re still hoping he will join them on the tour, so that one will go through.”

When could Eriksen make his unofficial United debut?

United got their pre-season preparations underway against Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday, although the delay in Eriksen’s announcement meant he wasn’t able to play.

But Ten Hag’s side are back in action on Friday when they face A-League side Melbourne Victory at the MCG, although given the average flight time from England to Australia, it’s still unlikely that Eriksen will be available.

United remain Down Under for another eight days, though, with further friendlies against Crystal Palace on Tuesday before flying to Perth to round off their tour against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.

Unless Eriksen’s arrival is imminent, he’ll surely miss the opening two matches, but will be hoping to pull on the famous red, black, and white for the very first time sometime next week against either Palace or Villa.
