In goal, David de Gea retains his place as the undisputed number one, despite his imperfections. The experienced goalkeeper has been a loyal servant to the club and performed well.
At right-back, Diogo Dalot gave Aaron Wan-Bissaka a run for his money, but Dalot’s early-season contributions gave him the edge. However, both players deserve recognition for their performances.
The center-back pairing comprises Lisandro Martinez, who was exceptional until an unfortunate injury cut his season short, and Raphael Varane, who showcased his composure and quality throughout. Victor Lindelof also deserves credit for his strong end to the season.
Luke Shaw has been outstanding at left-back, establishing himself as one of the best in the country in his position. Tyrell Malacia’s arrival provided healthy competition and depth.
Casemiro emerged as United’s standout midfielder, bringing stability to the team. Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes contributed significantly, with the latter showcasing his exceptional talent. Fred and Marcel Sabitzer also played crucial roles when called upon.
In the attacking trio, Marcus Rashford led the team in goals, while Antony proved his worth despite unfair criticism. Alejandro Garnacho, despite limited minutes, showed promising potential. Wout Weghorst, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial provided depth, but consistency was lacking.
As Ten Hag and his coaching staff look to build on this season’s success, they have a clear plan to propel the team back to the top. The squad deserves credit for their efforts and the positive reception they are receiving.
