Louis Van Gaal side secured all three points courtesy of Virgil Van Dijk’s brilliant header past Thibaut Courtois in the second half.
The game between both sides ended in a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes. The Dutch side rarely tested Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois in goal while Netherlands 38 year old Goalkeeper made recent saves to deny Batshuayi, Onana and Vertonghen.
In the second half, Onana nearly opened scoring for Belgium but his header was tipped over by Pasveer following a freekick from Kevin De Bruyne and few minutes after, Virgil Van Dijk headed home from Cody Gakpo’s cross to break the deadlock.
The Liverpool star was named captain for Netherlands. He kept a clean sheet against a tough Belgium side and his late header proved to be the winner to send Netherlands to the finals.
