Lens’ Florian Sotoca is closer to Neymar than PSG’s Kylian Mbappe even though they are tied on same goals. Sotoca have assisted a goal this season but Mbappe is yet to set anyone up for a goal this season.
The 2 stars are tied on 5 goals and there is every possibility that Mbappe will surely give Neymar a run for his money more than Sotoca. Mbappe had only played 4 games and scoring 5 goals should be commended. More goals are expected of him since he won the last honour for the most individual goals last season.
Nigerian born Arsenal Striker Balogun, who joined Reims on loan as been outstanding among several loaned Players in the French Ligue 1. The sharpshooter scored his 4th goal of the season against Angers from the Penalty Spot in Reims’ 2-4 victorious outing in their 5th game of the season.
He will need 3 goals to go at par with Neymar if he must contend for the top Prize. Although Lorient’s Moffi and Lyon’s Martins also have 4 goals but Balogun appeared on duty with lesser playing time.
We have 7 other Players with 3 goals as Lionel Messi but they all trail the former World best Player after the former Barca Talisman have assisted 4 times in 5 matches this season, trailing only Neymar in that class. As unpredictable as he could be, the Argentine will certainly be looking forward to beating Neymar to the Awards as he’s just 4 goals behind the Brazilian.
