It’s like being on a rollercoaster while you’re on your period. When you’re on your period, you have to deal with a lot of bloating, cramping, and mood swings. All of these things are inconvenient, but let’s face it: periods are a necessary part of life. They appear to be in good health, based on their presence!

There are a few things you should avoid doing, though, to make the last few days of the month a little easier to bear. Periods can be uncomfortable and inconvenient, but there are things you can do to make them less so.

The five things you should avoid doing during your period are listed below.

1. Eating So much salt.

Foods heavy in salt are harmful for you when you’re menstruating since they can make your cramps worse. It can also cause a lot of bloating, which makes things even worse.

2. Drinking a lot of coffee

Caffeine could make you feel worse while also contributing to bre@st ache. You may have a caffeine addiction, but you’ll need to cut back on your coffee intake.

Douching to clean up there might be really harmful. It can cause a range of health problems by interfering with the vaginal’s natural barriers against bacteria, including infections and an increased chance of developing STDs.

4. Using the same tampon or pad product throughout the day

Wearing the same sanitary pad or tampon for more than 4 to 6 hours will prove to be a breeding ground for bacteria and add to the production of bad odour. Additionally, doing so can cause skin rashes and TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).

5. Waxing or shaving

When you’re on your period, don’t shave your hair. The area is delicate, and the wax strips’ pull could exacerbate it, aggravating your agony. Depending on the course of your menstrual cycle, shaving might be a messy operation.

If you get a cut when shaving, you’re likely to get an infection. Schedule it a week after your menstruation to avoid pain and discomfort.

6. Smoking

While we are all cognizant that smoking is harmful to our health, women who smoke during their periods are more likely to experience substantial pain. As a result, kicking the buttocks is more preferable.

7. Going to bed without a pad

Sleeping without a pad may appear to be more comfortable, but this is not the case! If rashes or pain are a concern, try switching brands or starting to use a menstrual cup, but don’t go to bed without a sanitary device to handle the flow.

8. Skipping meals and eating junk food

It’s not a good idea to skip meals during your period because it can deplete your energy and make you feel bad. This does not, however, indicate that junk food should be used in place of normal meals. Junk food is high in sodium and sugar, which causes bloating and discomfort.
