He made the remarks in an interview with BBC Hausa.

Senator Kwankwaso feels that letting the crisis take time and not taking action is why it is now beyond the capacity of the leaders.

He added that the situation in Nigeria was “appalling,” adding that he had never expected the situation to deteriorate since he left the ministry of defense.

“The issue is not about the president, it is a matter that we knew about the president until everything was said to him, but now things have changed,” he said.

He said: “The root causes of this problem are severalfold: firstly, there are mistakes that the president has made that have upset the balance, because as a president he has to deal with everyone and those who helped him, and secondly, as a leader, once you are sworn in, it should not be said who you do not like, or who you are not.”

Kwankwaso said Nigerians should work together to assist the president and security forces in overcoming the problem. Let’s meet and see what can be done to overcome the problem.

Asked how he felt about the role of the Nigerian security forces, Kwankwaso said, “It’s a big surprise to hear that someone has been killed, but you don’t feel anything has been done. What is going on?” Kwankwaso said.

The Nigerian government has repeatedly said that there is still a problem in the north-east of the country. In the south, there is the problem of the separatists in Biafra (IPOB), and what is happening in the north-west of the country. It is too much for the security forces, and they are too weak.

Kwankwaso, however, is of the opinion that this is not the case. He ran. But the worry and violence is that these thieves, who have a reputation in the north, are being branded as the Inspector General of Police, Kwankwaso said.
