His comments come at a time when Gen Zs have taken over the baton of opposition from ODM boss Raila Odinga, who has jumped the ship into the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Posting on his official X account, Mr. Kibwana stated that the Azimio la Umoja coalition party has collapsed following the departure of its 2022 general election flag bearers.

Kibwana suggested that Raila Odinga appears to have left the coalition due to his growing alliance with President William Ruto, which resulted in ODM securing four Cabinet positions.

He also highlighted that the coalition’s demise was further marked by the exit of Raila’s running mate, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, and the absence of Azimio chairperson, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“With Azimio 2022 flagbearers Raila Odinga and Martha Karua out of the coalition, and the Chair Uhuru Kenyatta absent, AZIMIO is dead,” Kibwana argued.
