According to a report published in Tuesday’s Standard, Wetangula held a meeting with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua amidst mounting pressure to merge Ford Kenya into UDA.

According to insiders, the pair discussed the current political landscape in the country as well as strategies to enhance the relationship between the executive and the legislature.

However, in response to the same, Nyeri Senator Kimani Wamatangi emphasized that the meeting should not be construed as part of a strategy for the 2027 elections.

Wahome Wamatangi asserts that it was appropriate for the Deputy President to meet with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, especially considering Wetangula’s challenges in uniting the Luhya community amidst political tensions sparked by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.

As Moses Wetangula appears reluctant to meet the UDA party’s requirement of merging Ford Kenya, similar resistance is observed with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who vowed to unleash another political upheaval against the Ruto administration.
