Sang secured the grand prize of $50,000 with an impressive finishing time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 49 seconds, outperforming his compatriots Simon Cheprot and Edwin Kiptoo, who secured the second and third positions, respectively, earning $40,000 and $30,000, respectively.

This victory marked an improvement for Sang, who previously secured the third position in the 2023 edition.

In the women’s category, twenty-five-year-old Kebene Chala from Ethiopia emerged as the winner, claiming the same $50,000 prize. Both Sang and Chala’s victories earned them qualification for the marathon event at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
