Today, Martha Karua, on behalf her party Narc-Kenya, announced an official exit form the coalition saying she would, henceforth, be focusing on uniting her people and galavanising support for her political stability ahead of 2027 general election.
In a three-para statement dated Thursday July 25 seen byKenyawide.com, Ms Karua notified the oppositioncoalitionthat she was exiting the outfit that has, of late, faced a lot of challenges ahead of talks that are scheduled to take place sooner.
“Kindly take notice that our stay inAzimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition is not tenable due to the prevailing political developments.
“As Narc-Kenya by way of this letter, we are giving notice to exit the coalition as stipulated in the exit clause in our coalition agreement.
“This notice being effective from the date of this letter,” stated the notice shared on all her socials.
Elsewhere, Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka, kilometers away, announced rejecting the Attorney General position stating that his standards are way above serving under President William Ruto.
Kalonzo listed the high profile positions he has held before in various past regimes saying it cannot be equal to the offer President Ruto has made to him in theKenya Kwanzagovernment which he described as a ‘sinking ship’.
“This thing about the attorney general is a mirage. As a former Vice President and minister in several ministries, do you expect me with all my portfolio to work for Ruto as Attorney General in the sinking ship regime? Party Leader Kalonzo stated adding that he was not interested.
Initially, the position was held by Justin Muturi who the president moved to a ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management following a raft of challenges that were announced in the cabinet, days ago.
Though, Ruto had offered the position to Rebecca Miano, this was not made official when the new nominated names were made public in the National Assembly.
