The Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, is one of the influential political players who have been tipped to emerge the presidential candidate of the ruling party.

The people rooting for Umahi are relying on the fact that the Southeast region where he hails from has not produced the President of the country since the return of democracy in 1999.

Available indicators have shown that the game plan of other presidential hopeful in APC might change with the ongoing plot in the ruling party to field Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State as the presidential candidate in 2023.

According to a report by Tribune Newspaper, APC is currently considering Dave Umahi as the flagbearer of the party in 2023.

The report revealed that Umahi who is an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari has become a regular mention in the projection for the APC presidential ticket.

The ongoing agitation for Igbo presidency may also favor Dave Umahi over other influential politicians eyeing the presidential ticket of the ruling party.

This is coming when Daily Trust revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is silently pushing for Igbo Presidency ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
