Sani pleaded with President Tinubu to allocate the funds to federal government colleges, polytechnics, public universities, and colleges of education.
In response to the Special Investigator’s report on the CBN’s management under the ousted former governor, Godwin Emefiele, which exposed the apex bank’s expenditure of N61,543,863,520.00 on the illicit printing of naira notes among other transgressions, Senator Sani made the call on Sunday.
According to the complete study, which Sahara Reporters exclusively published on Saturday, the redesigned Naira is “illegal and should be withdrawn from circulation with immediate effect.”
In this sense, it is appropriate to prosecute Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Mr. Folashodun Shonubi, and other accomplices for this aberration, which resulted in numerous Nigerian deaths, the closure of enterprises, and unemployment.
“As of August 9, 2023, there were N769.562 billion worth of illicit Naira in circulation. The Government has incurred charges of N61,543,863,520.00, of which N31,799,328,880.80 has been paid.”
