Tragically, this incident resulted in the death of a police officer, with another sustaining injuries. The command conveyed that the unfortunate event transpired during the night, specifically around 8 pm on Thursday.
The Katsina Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Aliyu, shared this information in a statement issued on Friday. He emphasized that the officers exhibited bravery, successfully thwarting the attack. Regrettably, one officer lost his life, while another was wounded due to the sudden onslaught by the gunmen.
The statement by PPRO Abubakar Aliyu, while speaking on the attack, on Friday, partly reads, “Yesterday at about 8 pm (on Thursday night), some suspected armed bandits, deceitfully dressed in hijab, attacked officers at their duty post situated in Saki Jiki village of Batsari Local Government Area.”
