The Reds, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham will all play group stage matches in Europe’s elite club competition on the following dates: 6/7 September, 13/14 September, 4/5 October, 11/12 October, 25/26 October and 1/2 November.
Arsenal and Manchester United will compete in the Europa League in the same weeks, just one day later: 8 September, 15 September, 6 October, 13 October, 27 October and 3 November.
Managers will be busy planning how best to use their squads in these weeks, with the fixture pile up even more chaotic than usual due to the six-week winter break for the World Cup.
Klopp described his second-string team as ‘Ferraris in the garage’ last season and he will hope that they are at top speed as they may well be called upon more than usual.
On the six weekends immediately after their Champions League group stage games, Liverpool will face another traditional ‘big six’ team on four occasions: Chelsea (17 September), Arsenal (8 October), Manchester City (15 October) and Tottenham (5 November).
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham all face two fixtures against big six teams straight after their European commitments.
However, the Premier League gods have been kind to new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
His side have no games against big six clubs directly after they play in the Europa League. The highest-placed team from last season that United will face after a European gameweek are West Ham on 29 October.
