According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, intelligence sources said the terrorist was apprehended by the troops of 144 Battalion, Operation Hadin Kai deployed at Madagali, Adamawa State during an operation.
The terrorist kingpin was reportedly one of the most wanted criminals on the list of the military. He was apprehended in a sting operation carried out by the troops at the Mubi Market General area on April 9, 2024.
Saidu Hassan Yellow, 32 was alleged to be the mastermind behind the attack on Askira town on November 12, 2021, where the Commander of 28 Task Force Brigade and three soldiers were killed while reinforcing a counter-offensive operation against the terrorists.
Items recovered from the suspects include three mobile handsets, three ATM cards, one wristwatch, four rings, a bunch of keys and N1,900 only.
